The Art And Luxury Of Lladro Pottery

It started with three brothers Juan, Jos and Vicente in Almacera near the city of Valencia in Spain’s East Mediterranean coast, and it was in the 1950’s. These three enterprising lads, wanting to improve their prospects for the future, decided to render their time and commitment to making ceramics. The first step they did was enroll in the Valencia School of Arts and Crafts to hone their skills and talent. Eventually they put these learned skills into practice and began manufacturing and selling lladro pottery in the local market.

This was the hopeful beginning of the world renowned Lladro porcelain figurines and pottery. Lladro pottery now markets its creations and masterpieces in both ends of the world. Lladro, which started as a small family workshop in the 1950’s has expanded a hundred times as it now creates luxurious figures incorporating beauty and quality of the highest kind. To a true blue collector, Lladro figurines and pottery are exquisite treasures of art and craftsmanship.
