CAT | Comedy
This is probably the best time of year to book a comedian. The holiday season, with all its big events and parties, is over. And the active spring and summer seasons are months away. The dead of winter is typically the slow season for bookings, which means that there will be more comedians available. This is good news for anyone who wants to book a comedy night at a club (or any other type of event). You will see a better selection of comics, and you might be able to negotiate a lower fee than normal. The winter is actually a great time to stage a comedy event. People need something to cheer them up, and they have nothing better to do during the long, dark winter evenings. A well-advertised comedy event is likely to attract a good crowd for those reasons alone. And if you can snag a famous comedian for the event, tickets will probably sell out long before the performance date.
Today I got a really annoying assignment at work. My boss wants me to go around to each of my coworkers and ask them the funniest quote of the day. My boss thinks that if I can compile a list of funny quotes and posted on the company website every single day people will think that the employees here are much more approachable. I understand why he wants to do this but I do not think that it is a good plan. 1st of all, most people are not nearly funny enough to articulate the funny quotes of the day in a meaningful way. Therefore all of the quotes that I have to put on the website will just be confusing and not funny at all. I think if my boss realized this he would not want me to complete this task but he is too dense to realize the error of his ways.
